Hi there, and welcome to my page where I talk all things lacrosse! From an early age I have been in love with the game, and it has only spread through all forms of the sport. I grew up going to box lacrosse games, as I am from Rochester, and my parents are season ticket holders for the Rochester Knighthawks, a professional box team in the NLL. They always encouraged my to try out lacrosse as they saw how much I loved watching, however seeing how different girl’s lacrosse was from box, deterred me from trying it for the longest time. My love for watching the game continued to grow as I did, and I spread my interest to the outdoor game in collegiate men’s and the MLL at the time, and now the PLL.
Freshman year of high school, one of my close friends and soccer teammates told me how the JV lacrosse team needed more girls for the season, and tryouts were that day. Without hesitation to try something new, I showed up that day, and was later offered a spot on the team. Mid season of that year, I was even asked to join varsity, as they needed another midfielder, and with my soccer background, I was athletic and already in good running shape. The rest is history. I now play collegiate lacrosse at SUNY Fredonia, and I still love watching all forms of lacrosse: box, men’s and women’s professional outdoor, and collegiate. Now, I’m here to share my knowledge and passion for the game with you all, and I hope you enjoy lacrosse even just a little bit as much as me.
Lyss
